maybe this is random, but anyone who has done anything with word counting/aggregating has run into the Porter Stemmer, looks like the same implementation is just being passed around, here it is inside the Stanford NLP framework: https://github.com/stanfordnlp/CoreNLP/blob/master/src/edu/stanford/nlp/process/Stemmer.java. This code looks so insane. I am thinking about rewriting this in Kotlin, pasting it and asking IntelliJ to was a bridge too far.
