As someone who isn’t in any of the data science buckets: I think that splitting the channel into more specialized channels would only create confusion for now, because people wouldn’t necessarily be used to looking specifically for “machine learning” or “data engineering” rather than data science, which I think would reduce the discoverability of the channel, and increase the odds of responding with “You should ask that in the machine-learning channel, not the optimization channel”. I also don’t think it solves a problem of “too much noise,” because this is a relatively quiet channel. And from a personal perspective, I like all of those things, having them all show up in the same channel is more convenient 🙂
