<@UG9H10QKE> this probably comes down to development culture, but that kind of smells a little bit like "big design up front", when people are doing designs that are chucked over the wall to the dev teams. The library hasn't evolved like that because TBH we just don't work in that way - we always try to start with the concept of a "walking skeleton"  followed by incremental improvements towards an MVP (and then on) which generally would change that API anyway as we learned more.
