i think that the elegant functional specification for flexible grammars and expressions is reasonably enabled by a source-to-source front-end to kotlin. as Arrow seems to be the joint effort of two prior FP projects, there must be a laundry list of things-we-wish-didn't-look-ugly-in-kotlin somewhere in all of the dialogues to date.
