Because it's a "raw" data repository normally you would have an abstraction layer over it (like the reflection library), but that can't be reused because 1) it relies on having the actually Classes and using normal reflection on them and 2) it's incomplete

We could make it easier but I don't know if it's worth the effort if we'll eventually have compiler plugins :)
