The biggest issue I have found so far when working with kapt and what we are doing is having to extract stuff from the protobuffer repesentations. As in I just want to generate stuff and all that proto stuff is mostly boilerplate, but I'm sure I'm missing the point of interfacing with that directly and there are use cases where you need it.
