Also the ClickOnce XML manifest was only ever supported natively by IE, they wrote a browser extension for Firefox but Chrome never had any real support for it. Basically ClickOnce failed to become a major part of the ecosystem. Perhaps because it was .NET specific and didn't work for classical Windows apps
