AOT is nearly there for all platforms. I'm not sure what's immature about it, beyond the fact that not every platform is supported yet (but this is easy). GUI apps want access to sophisticated cross platform widget toolkits, and ideally lots of libraries, and ideally any language you like. JVM can do all these things. Other runtimes, not so much
