In the lab chat, we are discussing the benifit of different tabular data storage formats. @Zelenyi ported some cross-section computations from fortran to Python, but he uses hdf5 format for data and I am opposed to the idea since hdf5 is overcomplicated and there are no convinient readers outside python. Bu it rises the question, again, what to use insted. I am thinking about Apache arrow + parquet. Does anybody have experience with it? We are not discussing CSV or other textual formats.
