Has Google announced what their strategy is for introducing new versions of Kotlin to Compose?

It seems like sometimes they create a patch release of released versions to upgrade quickly and other times they only update the alpha or beta versions.

Do they just do the patch when it breaks nothing or is it related to how far a long the next version is?
