Rahul and Dustin are Googlers who has been working on bidirectional syncing of androidx code to a mirror on github. I'd consider it to be pretty experimental and the androidx repository on aosp is still considered the source-of-truth, but if the github workflow makes it easier for people to contribute than I'm all for it!
