i have a data manipulation toolkit.  it was designed for solving one kind of data problem, but the abstractions work out nicely for more generic problems (smaller datasets).  i have previously explored grpc but found some albedo in the kotlin ecosystem;

 I'd love to learn inductively how to replace the trivial metadata pieces in this unit test with grpc maven stub generator details, or even deal with a gradle port (not my first choice).
