What do people use for technical blogging nowadays? I don't like medium as a platform, but something with a similar "modern" feel would be nice. I just want a place to dump a few thoughts and have it look nice, perhaps in markdown, and with a couple pictures, no custom scripting or anything like that.

You could try, I think that checks your boxes. I still like Medium, though 😉

Substack seems to be the latest big thing, but if you don't like Medium then Substack is probably just more of the same

Thank you! I think I'll go with I like its minimalism! I'll likely end up making something custom and host it on gh pages later on, but for the time being this is a good low-friction solution.

Some people are blogging using GitHub Gists. It supports everything you need I think? It even has comments

I've seen a lot of people use Deno Blog. It's just a few lines of configuration and can be deployed in seconds on Deno Deploy
