What do people use for technical blogging nowadays? I don't like medium as a platform, but something with a similar "modern" feel would be nice. I just want a place to dump a few thoughts and have it look nice, perhaps in markdown, and with a couple pictures, no custom scripting or anything like that.

You could try write.as, I think that checks your boxes. I still like Medium, though 😉

There's also telegra.ph by the makers of the Telegram messaging app
Substack seems to be the latest big thing, but if you don't like Medium then Substack is probably just more of the same

Thank you! I think I'll go with write.as. I like its minimalism! I'll likely end up making something custom and host it on gh pages later on, but for the time being this is a good low-friction solution.

Some people are blogging using GitHub Gists. It supports everything you need I think? It even has comments
I've seen a lot of people use Deno Blog. It's just a few lines of configuration and can be deployed in seconds on Deno Deploy
