I wonder if Jetbrains officially stated something yet about Roman Elizarov stepping down as the Project Lead for Kotlin? All I remember is the tweet from Roman himself.
When Roman Elizarov took over from Andrey Breslav back in 2020 there was an official blog post about it. I understand that this now looked more like a short term or even emergency decision and that a new Project Lead has yet to be found.
But I would still have at least expected an official statement of gratitude for his invaluable work.
Roman left for personal reasons and he himself decided to post it as a series of tweets. There was no emergency in his departure and there are folks that have taken over in different roles including @etolstoy as project lead and @mikhail.zarechenskiy as language lead designer. Both of whom have been involved in Kotlin and in the respective areas a number of years.
Many of us thanked him both personally and publicly, as we also did as part of the foundation. Roman will always remain a part of the Kotlin community.
Thank you.
