@kenkyee Do you literally just react with not kotlin but kotlin colored to every message... ?
not kotlin but kotlin colored 6

not just me... and only if it doesn't apply to the channel.
Disappointed that people don't read the channel description 😞
or just complain that this should be all Android questions in a slack named kotlinlang...
m
tho it should not be in this channel

I used it back when coding Android w/ Java....
that was from a simple Google search "@JavaScriptInterface" 🤷
e
if you would encounter the same issue in Java, then it's not a Kotlin issue, even if you are using Kotlin at the moment.

To be honest, even with that description, the lines are still blurry. The effect it has on me is to just avoid asking anything in this channel, than to ask only to get raided with not kotlin but kotlin colored reactions.

Why is it blurry? if it related specifically to Kotlin and Android, it's on topic, otherwise it's off topic Yes, topic is not very broad, but it's fine, no need to make every channel into non-Kotlin generic discussion one. > How this Annotation
@JavaScriptInterface
works to expose methods to JS native Has nothing to do with Kotlin specifically, it's purely AOSP specific question about the framework implementation details Question of something like "Do you have an example of useage
@JavaScriptInterface
with Kotlin class" is totally valid and on the topic of the channel
m
Thanks for the example. I usually go through this channel and see a lot of not kotlin but kotlin colored so it gets confusing. For example, if I had an android question about properly declaring a certain plugin in my build gradle file, would that be not kotlin but kotlin colored since it can also be achieved with Groovy?
g
> and see a lot of not kotlin but kotlin colored so it gets confusing. Yes, because everyone asking questions which are not related to Kotlin and better to use generic Android-specific resources as one suggested in the description > properly declaring a certain plugin in my build gradle file There is #gradle channel for such questions, if it not Android specific, but again, same rule, if this plugin is Kotlin related, or if your question is about usage of Kotlin DSL in Gradle

There is also a Gradle specific slack group for Android that you can look at for those sorts of specific questions: https://gradle-community.slack.com/archives/CJYS1DAP5
