will the k2 plugin support extract method in the near future? I can’t use it without that refactoring

Extract method is relatively complex IDE feature, and we targeted it on 2024.2 for providing with better quality

Yes, sometimes got the same feedback from our colleagues. We will do our best to provide it as soon as possible.

We expect that this request will not be rare.
Our team uses k2-plugin for the last 3 months and we feel the lack of extract method.

oh cool so everybody on the team uses the k2 plugin?

Yes, everybody in Kotlin plugin team uses k2-plugin, almost permanently since ~ September.
Also, in the whole JetBrains we saw ~ 60 weekly users, who developed with k2-plugin (from time to time or permanently). Mostly, it was developers of IntelliJ IDEs.

I agree, this is an essential refactoring, please don't make us wait half a year. Although, I guess other support, like Android (considering the community size), might be higher on the list 🤞.
