But with shared element transitions currently in focus on the roadmap, the library is going to probably become obsolete in many ways

Idk, if there's going to be an official way to do something, and the alternative doesn't come from Google, I don't want to create extra tech debt

yes, I'd expect it to probably become obsolete at some point this year

It's been on their to-do list for a long while now, so I figured it's a matter of time.

lazyColumn (old recyclerview) animations are also going to expand in the next 6 - 12 months, they are adding item addition/removal animations very soon

I don't want to invest time in something that will get officially added with first class support, integration, attention from Google if that makes sense. Accompanist is an exception to that since I see it as Google's testing ground almost

I can’t comment on the timeline, but I saw a demo of the wip shared element api this week and it looks very nice!
