Hi, does anyone know what the plans are for Kotlin Compose Web/Wasm in terms of accessibility? I haven’t found anything about the topic online.

Jetbrains are going to reimplement everything related to accessibility that all the browsers already had for more than a decade again, but now in canvas ;)
But maybe I am a bit of a cynic ;)

@sebastian.s.rieger we have plans to cover accessibility but not for the next release - accesibility won’t help a lot if the fundamental functionality won’t work properly in first place. @Arjan van Wieringen personally I don’t find this statement cynical, this is exactly the downside of canvas-based approach. There are a lot of upsides however as well )

Hi @[JB] Shagen thanks for the answer. I can understand that his is not the highest priority at this state but I want to make sure that it is on the roadmap 🙂

@[JB] Shagen Regarding the benefits of a canvas-based approach, is there anywhere I can read up on those?
This might come in handy to convince people (including myself) to be more willing to leave the DOM behind 😅
