I'd say you are a bit overreacting. I first answered your question and in the end told you that your question has nothing to do with Kotlin and additionally added the reaction as the topic was off-topic according to the rules of this server.
a
Yeah sorry, it isn't against you Björn 🙂 I madly appreciate all the support you give.
v
Besides that, Ususally you get much faster an answer to a Gradle topic in the Gradle slack than in the Kotlin Slack, so your statement is quite wrong there too.
a
You are answering 99% of the questions here, so i understand that you want to focus.
v
I don't mind, I don't make the rules
But if there are rules, they should imho be adhered to
I'm also answering most questions over there

So I know that the statement that there the answers need longer is non-sense

"Besides that, Ususally you get much faster an answer to a Gradle topic in the Gradle slack than in the Kotlin Slack, so your statement is quite wrong there too." Well, this is an experience, so not a statement of fact.
Look, I really don't expect people to answer me in 5 secs. Let me get that clear 🙂
v
Well, maybe if you ask in some channel I'm not active that could indeed be of course. I'm totally not interested in Android for example 😄
a
Me neither 😉
v
Btw. it is Björn or Bjoern, not Bjorn 😉

I think there are more answerers on the forums than slack too, it just isn't as immediate
a
I don't expect immediate answers. That would be a bit ridiculous, everybody is helping in their free time. Typically it already helps to fully type out the question, which is in itself a form of rubber duck debugging.
In the Gradle Slack I mostly use community-support, but maybe I am wrong there. But I will look onto discuss.gradle then. Thanks!
v
No,
#community-support
is fine if there is not a more targeted channel or you are unsure where it belongs. It is like the
#getting-started
here. But that you do not get answers in
#community-support
is highly unlikely, unless it is a very obscure question where I really have neither immediate knowlege, nor enough interest to find out myself, as I'm pretty active there too. 🙂
And actually I would say that the Slack is more active than the Forums actually
a
Okay clear; Thanks 🙂
e
Slack is more active, I just think the forums have a longer tail
