I'd love a Party Keynote like the one from 2017, if it's possible at all. I think it was a bright idea to do that with this magician that knows what it can be to be a developer.

I absolutely loved the way it went last year. That band was so cool, I'd greatly prefer something like that to other forms of entertainment.

The music was way too loud to me. Impossible to enjoy because of that. Impossible to chat with folks a bit while enjoying the concert (which I'm not criticizing!).
Downstairs, it was possible to have conversations, but there was also no live music to enjoy. I think a quieter place is nice to have, but too loud isn't good.

I'm saying this as a hearing impaired person (with high quality hearing aids). I was also fearing the music was loud enough to damage my hearing further, and of other folks as well…

I'm not saying that I don't like loud music, I do! I do until it becomes a pain. Usually, when there's a band, if I want to hear it super loud, I come closer to the scene, and I retreat bit several meters otherwise.

Yeah, I suppose that's a dilemma for most people, and I can relate that it becomes harder in cases like yours. To really enjoy music, many folks need some level of volume (me too). On the other hand, we all know we're damaging our hearing that way. Reminds me of bringing my concert earplugs. Unfortunately, I don't know what options are available for users of hearing aids. Ideal solution for me would be to have some acoustically shielded area where you can have conversations and ideally still see and hear a bit of what's going on on the main floor. A setting like that would even be better than verbal stage entertainment like above, because then everyone would just listen to that and miss their neighbor.

While the band themselves were great, that entire room was impossible to sit inside for more than a few seconds. I also just fled as soon as possible to a place where you could actually talk with other people without having to scream at each other 😅
So I very much agree with what Louis is saying here.
