How do I add a 'total downloads' badge to my kotlin multiplatform library's github repo published to maven central? I am aware of shields.io but it doesnt seem to have a maven central option (maybe they dont expose downloads?)

There's no public API to see the download statistics for Maven Central.

If you have an account then you can see the stats for your own libraries, but that won't help.
