I would actually like to add on top of that, there were 3 unfortunate events around this and I was wondering what would be the best channel for feedback, so I'll try here:
1. The first day lunch menu listed the breads having dairy (and I think maybe eggs as well, not sure), and I thought that was odd since some of the bread really didn't look like they had dairy. Today's menu listed the breads as vegan even though it was the same bread. That was the first hint something was up.
2. The first day cakes had two entries on the menu (one for each cake), both listing the cakes as vegan (so no dairy and no eggs). Today we had the same cakes plus two more cakes. The menu had only one entry this time for all cakes, claiming they had dairy and eggs.
3. I didn't check the menu properly during the party and I had the impression there was a vegan hotdog. I asked for a vegan hotdog and was handed the vegetarian option with dairy and eggs. I guess that one is on me, though 🤷
I felt sick for a good chunk of the day since, like most people, I'm lactose intolerant. In general, I think they just weren't well prepared to deal with allergens. Another weird aspect was having "vegan" in the menu as one of the allergens which doesn't really make sense.
I really enjoy the conference but this was rather frustrating and I thought it was important to mention it since this is the kind of thing that shouldn't be overlooked.
