hi all android eyes , Koala lost all my custom keymap settings. Even if I try to File / Manage IDE Settings / Import Settings, it acts like there are no IDE settings and opens up with the wizard again, and once I’m in, it still doesn’t have my custom keymap. I’ve customized this thing over 20+ years with IntelliJ-based products. It is not the same as Mac OS, or IntelliJ IDEA Classic, or any other. It’s 20+ years of training my brain. Come on JB and Google! Give me Import Keymap back. What are my options? Do I have to manually edit the settings file or something?
I should mention that when I imported settings, I browsed to my old keymap file that is still in my Library/Application Support/Google/AndroidStudio2023.3/keymaps folder. FWIW, it’s still in the keymaps folder of all my previous versions because the upgrade process was able to import it, or when it didn’t I was able to import it (which may have only been Jellyfish). Koala is the first one that fails to do or provide this.
uh-oh. Oh boy. I should’ve tried this earlier. It was simple. 🙄 If I just copy that keymap file into the Koala (AS2024.1) keymaps folder, then I can switch to it in settings. We’re back to good. Please forgive the 🎭. 😬 (not deleting this in case it can help somebody else)
