How do you guys deals with older watches with bottom chin like the moto 360? I think that I should just disable support for the in Play Console but I still fear the Play Store nice Wear review team reject the app as they might test it even with the excludes.

are there any recent watches that have them?

No, but there’s nearly no watches that are Android 11, and if going down to Android 9 then moto 360 and such are in the list :disappointed:

My motto, support the future and not the past. I think the pixel watch will be present with Android 11 soon.

API 11 is Samsung Watch 4 and Summit 3 and that’s all :wink: Hard to explain to my users why they won’t get the update.

<@UDU9YQ3JN> If you disable (specific) Wear 2 watches in Play Console (or just set minSDK to 30) your app won’t be tested on unsupported devices during Play Store review. Wear 3 (running on Android 11) activations grew almost three times (YoY), so it should be the primary Wear OS version to test your app on. I'd like to avoid the min SDK but thanks for the confirmation Play review team won't test 360 if I disable it. Such awful experience with them blocking release for months for 3 pixels cut on some cases explaining me that the app did not support multiple device shapes despite fully supporting all cases and those pixels being a design choice. Compose for wear makes me want to try again to care for Wear but I really fear those guys who don't read the appeals.

It was in 2019, I never tried again to update the app, was even forced to ping a high ranked Googler to be able to have an answer to a simple question. I’m willing to test again thanks to Compose and the fun I had with it writing another app, will ping you, if they reject due to not supporting chin even if I disable those watches in the device list. But yes it was that horrible, only automated answers even on simple questions, it’s insane to deal with that.
