To escape the AI craze I will probably be moving away from Windows and Mac to Linux and using KMP/ Compose Multiplatform for everything I need.

That was the reason I choose Java 20 years ago. 😄
.NET would have meant to be Windows dependent and back then I was on Linux.
At the time Android was invented I was able to make Android apps by only needing to learn a bit of new API, but no new language.
I felt that was the right decision.
