#android got removed.

Please someone ban him instantly. I don’t see the necessity for multiple warnings. People like that don’t change.

Yet alone that he did not remove the post hours after a mod asked him to tells me everything.

It seems to me that the Code of Conduct is neither prominent enough, nor specific/detailed enough. New members signing up to Kotlin Slack get to click on "accept code of conduct" possibly without even looking at it. Even if they do, it doesn't say anything about promotions.
s
I feel that it’s common sense that one doesn’t post ads like that. But yes, the rules should be more clear and also more strictly enforced.
c
Currently, there is really no reason to read the code of conduct. You join this slack, post an ad. A moderator tells you to remove it. You don't. That's the end of the story. The thousands of users who will log in during the following days will see the ad.

It's true, but promotions are allowed if they are related to channel topic and to Kotlin
s
Which was stated here by a mod, but not find it's way into the guidelines. It should. In this specific case the promoted tool has an Android integration. I don't feel that this is enough to justify the promotion. It's just spam.

I also think it's not enough for promotion in feed, it must be explicitly related to Kotlin
