The beginning looks good. At the first step I have more questions to the API (rather than implementation).

And the main question is how where condition (from the PR) would have different parameters for every statement?

Anyway, if you have a case where you need batchUpdate function, did you have a change to look at the merge command, that also allows to make multiple rows updates?
