Does compose-desktop have a self/auto updater for Desktop?

Not as far as I know, you have to rely on regular Java desktop application solutions

that's not what I meant, I'm speaking about existing tooling unrelated to Compose to achieve this, like `jpackage`  is used under the hood by Jetbrains for Compose for desktop apps, there should be something doable for auto update mechanism.
