How can I improve the loading experience? Perhaps by adding a loading or splash screen, or using some other mechanism?
What's your contermeasure?

On my MacBook, everything loads quickly, but users have reported seeing an initial white screen on Android devices, as well as delays between screens (like the one with boxes before images fully load) that last several seconds.

You can change the background in HTML, that way, it won't flicker as much at least

What browser did you use on Android? I just gave it a try with Chrome on my already several years old xiaomi and I’d say it starts in about a second and I did not see any white screen or delays. Actually I’d find an additional splash screen more disturbing than the current state. Just my two €ent.

I use a splash screen for the initial load, as that takes a bit longer, but the navigation shouldn't have splash screens IMO. So agreed with Michael
