Howdy Folks. I am wondering if there's any experts on the Kotlin Compiler Daemon about?

I am investigating integrating into our [non-gradle] build system, and have run into a hitch: I can stand the daemon up and have it compile a hello-world program, but then it immediately shuts back down. How does one keep the daemon running?
