Not sure where to ask this, but are there improvements coming to Android Studio's compose previews?  With the Ladybug release things have gotten near unusable where I used to have the preview side pane open all the time, but now the whole UI hangs while its recompiling the previews now (which takes ~7-10sec in the module I use the most, which is one of our smaller ones) so I have it closed until I'm ready to look.   Its like they moved something from background thread to ui thread in that release

I can not really help you but i do not experience this behavior. So for me the preview improved a little bit in Ladybug.
Depending on view (List, Gird, and Gallary) it varies. But now the Grid view is working well. In the past i had often rendering again and size changes which leads to flickering when i had a lot of previews. But now it is working much better.
