Important to note that if you're using Android Studio you may wanna wait a little more. It's stable in IntelliJ, but not in AS yet.

_Addendum of the addendum_: Its stable in Android Studio Meerkat (canary) πŸ‘€ (as that is based on 2024.3) so you can use it there. What’s truly unfortunate is that its not yet at feature parity with K1 yet (this is mentioned in the article!) https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/KTIJ-30558/K2-Parity-Features (had to turn it off in Meerkat because of missing β€œintroduce import alias” 😞), that aside, works great!
s
No it's not stable even in the latest canary, despite targeting the same IJ version https://bsky.app/profile/tornorbye.bsky.social/post/3lbapia2mf223

I just downgraded to 2024.2.4 on my MacBook M1, because for some reason 2024.3 is super slow. I guess that means I need to wait for 2024.3.1 πŸ˜„
c
I also had to downgrade to 2024.2.4 on Macbook M2 air for the exact same reason, super slow, sometimes even freezing for simple kotlin server side dev, but I believe we are not alone, so I guess it'll be fixed soon πŸ™‚

2024.3 has a lot of IDE errors and enormous memory usage πŸ˜… waiting for 2024.3.1

I'm glad that the Patch/Bugfix-versions are also part of the fallback license πŸ˜…
