The gRPC library for Kotlin hasn't been released for more than a year, just because one core member leave Google. https://github.com/grpc/grpc-kotlin/issues/620#issuecomment-2218315430

Yesterday I needed to create Protobuf from JS … turns out, their own Protobuf-Library doesn't support ES6 modules yet (which have been around since 2015). There are two PRs from the community for ES6, but those are open for over 2 years now… (Thankfully there are other libraries, which are actually maintained) Yeah, Google is maintaining their libraries just like they maintain their products. And just like their products, I will avoid them in the future for that reason.
