I was only able to conclude that chinese remainder theorem does not apply since some of the example modules share 2 as divisors

Wow that was fun. I cannot impress upon you enough how bad I am at algebra. But I do enjoy it.

12 year old me: math is stupid, no one ever uses this stuff in real life.

Absolutely no one: actually, 35 years from now you will use it to save Christmas.

To be fair I once used trig functions to design a bike frame (that I never had built).
