Still won't index projects that aren't hosted on GitHub… Also, why a new tool? https://package-search.jetbrains.com/ is good already?

Very cool! Great to see an official collection for this. Categories like Network, DI, DateTime would be useful to be browsable.

Hi @CLOVIS, thank you for your questions! Right now, we’re focusing on enhancing the metadata quality of GitHub-indexed projects and improving the overall user experience. Expanding our indexing beyond GitHub is on our roadmap and is recognized as an important future improvement. klibs.io will replace the package search website as a platform specialized on KMP libraries aiming to deliver more relevant data and a more intuitive search experience.

@Nikolay Pachkov I'll be clear. When KLibs was a personal side-project, not indexing all libraries was acceptable. Now that it is an official JetBrains product, and officially recommended over PackageSearch, this decision is now a clear signal that JetBrains doesn't consider non-GitHub projects to be welcome in the ecosystem. 90% of the information displayed by KLibs is available in POM metadata. Leaving the other fields blank for non-GitHub projects is acceptable, but completely hiding open source libraries just because one or two metadata fields are missing is not.

Any plans to add the AndroidX KMP libraries? I checked DataStore and Room but don't see them listed

Wait… klibs is not open source? 🤔 It just has a GitHub project for issue tracking. 👀

Great move! Found one important issue: Some libs like
Koin
were not displayed to me when setting the
Android (JVM)
filter, even though they do support it. it is displayed when only JVM is displayed.
thank you color 1

I don’t see anything for Apple platforms in any of the libraries, though I know for a fact ktor and koin can be used in multi platform projects with iOS support. Since multi platform doesn’t guarantee the existence of support for iOS, etc., it would be nice to be able to filter for the ones that do.
