Is there any issue into creating one ViewModel per type of item in a LazyColumn?
Would that still play nicely with recycling?

Doubt it. A VM is scoped to a ViewModelStoreOwner, which your individual lazy items are not such store owners themselves, but your activity or your NavBackStackEntry may be.

Yeah I agree, it doesn't seem like a good idea to me as well
