Likely spam, pseudo-impersonating Jetbrains. <@U1...

Also in #C69DSR2AW #C01AF93UXRN and some more.

JetBrains staff also already confirmed that it’s phishing. That’s even worse than spam. If JetBrains has a lawyer I guess it’s time to file a lawsuit.

Where do you see the need of a lawsuit. There are just talking about creating an IDE for KMP. Why shouldn’t they be allowed to do this?
s
I think it’s unlikely they actually create a KMP IDE. This looks like referring to the KMP IDE JetBrains is planing and they make it look like that the survey is for that.
c
But assuming something will not hold any lawsuit. 😅
s
Yeah, someone from JetBrains will need to check what’s actually going on, of course.

They don’t even use a Jetbrains email address.
s
Very suspicious.

Now you have something 🤣
s
If that’s true, you’d write that upfront.

its sometimes hard to distinguish spam/phishing from incredibly-poor-execution 🙄 .

It’s a strange interview process step, too. That would stop by „design a survey and send it to us for review“
JetBrains won’t send surveys that go to gmail addresses.
I wonder why the account is still active.

Hi! Sorry, I responded to a couple of people in DM and forgot to follow up here (as I received multiple reports from different people). I deactivated the account yesterday for safety reasons. However, I’ve since confirmed that the author is our candidate, so I’ve restored his access.

Thanks for letting us know.

Whoever came up with this idea, I would not recommend repeating it. I hope the feedback reaches the appropriate person in charge.

Huh. Questionable approach.

Yes, sure! We didn’t encourage the candidate to approach the test assignment in this manner. We’re also adding a note that this approach should not be used by future candidates. Feedback has been provided 💯 Thanks again for reporting the situation!
