I have a strange error when I work with K2 - I can't work with returned types of functions unless I declare the return type, otherwise property type is ERROR and autocompelete etc. does not work - I tried to load with different versions of AS as well as invalidate / restart / nuking .idea etc. but nothing except disabling k2 fixed it so far

any ideas ?

I had this issue both on Android Studio Meerkat 2024.3.1 Canary 8 / 9 and Android Studio Ladybug Feature drop 2024.2.2, I'm attaching log from both

Looks like https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/KT-69398/K2-IDE-SOE-on-editing-top-level-private-variable-name. The fix should be available in the next update
