I ran the samples on macOS & Windows - works perfectly. 👌
But I noticed that JavaFX Media is apparently pretty limited to MP4 & h264. No support for MOV & HEVC as it looks like. According to ChatGPT this is due to the usage of a modified & slimmed-down GStreamer version shipped with JavaFX and they limited it on purpose to support the same containers & codecs on all platforms uniformly. I'll create a ticket for an option to use a custom gstreamer lib with more formats & codecs enabled on Windows like your original plan was. 😄
Guys, please don't fall for https://github.com/Chaintech-Network/ComposeMultiplatformMediaPlayer, which is some closed-source BS. I reported that to GitHub already as abuse, because they make it look like a library, but it's actually just a sample app with no library code. https://github.com/kdroidFilter/compose-media-player is the real first-ever video player library.
