"710K every month" in 2023 to "2.5M regularly" in 2024. Little hard to compare and I expect a switch in the way of counting. But still I'm convinced that Kotlin is constantly growing and taking more and more shares from Java. I really enjoy using it. kodee happy

Eugene here, from the team that worked on the report.

We had to switch to a different metric for this year’s report as we think it represents the situation more accurately.
2.5M is the total number of active Kotlin developers in 2024. This metric calculates developers who have used Kotlin plugin (in Android Studio, IntelliJ IDEA, etc.) at least 2 months in a row.

I hope we will be able to stick to this metric in the future to show a continued update.
