If you are also personally interested and would like to join in the current investigation: the TLDR - so Android Studio and IntelliJ has been developed separately, but often developed together for feature parity. Chris Sinco thought originally, this is because Android just doesn't support it. But after writing the article, I found that the GUI actually appears directly after installing `org.jetbrains.kotlinx:kotlinx-coroutines-debug:$version` only, and not with the VM configs. This suggests to me that there is an associated IDE plugin with the library itself (still digging for confirmation)
