Reposting this message here. Does anyone running Compose on remote Desktop? :)

I’m not familiar with the remote IDEA feature, but I don’t think that’s something you can do. It’s something we need to support on our end. @Igor Demin ?

@Alexander Maryanovsky thanks a lot for the reply. Giving that Compose is part of the Platform now it's unfortunate that it does not work at all for Host plugins, and of course there is no mentions about limitations in the docs😁
i
It indeed should be supported out of the box. Guys, who work on remote dev, should look at it, better to report in YouTrack. It can be a general issue of supporting non-swing graphics.

doesn't seem to load for me?
s
That's not public issue
a
I can’t see it either 😄
c
maybe thats why no one has responded? 😅

It’s probably limited to the IntelliJ team…
s
@Alexander Maryanovsky should I create a new one and assign to a different team
a
Probably not. The IJ team should either handle it or find the right people to assign it to.
Or, at worst case, reject as not-planned.
s
yeah but there are no activity on this issue for over 2 months🫠
a
@seb Maybe you know who should handle this?
s
Sounds like a @Jakub Senohrabek [JB] question 🙂
I'm on vacation so I'll let him handle/route this
s
Added some tags to the ticket but I don't think anyone looked into it😞
s
Yakub is on vacation now...
I'm asking around if someone can take a look

@stepango can you add at least jetbrains-team to the issue visibility? I have sent it to folks on the platform team but even they can't access it. Would explain why nobody replied 😄
s
I would be happy to do it, but I don't think I can actually do that:) Only thing I can do with the task right now is adding comments and tags🫠
Oh I think I found it😱 Crazy, looks like it was not visible for jetbrains team by default
s
Yeah 🙂
FWIW, I've been told that they're working on guidance on how to implement remote-friendly plugins; they recently figured out all there was to figure out for the Compose use case, and it is feasible. I don't have more details, but I would imagine they'll have something to share for 253
