Recently tested Junie vs Gemini Agent mode and from subjective evidence, Gemini was more ambitious and had better ideas, but in execution there were many errors I had to fix whereas Junie was less ambitious, but safer and without any errors

At first I asked both to create an app to show a list of items fetched from jsonplaceholder API.

Then, I asked to make the app have three white labeled product variants

Both did MVVM architecture without DI.

Big difference was white labelling. Gemini stubbed out colors and resources whereas Junie just did app name change

Overall similar results. Should do more unique tests

I believe from user perspective, we don't care what model is being used. As long as the agent does its job, validates his results, we are happy.

Power users in my opinion would love to have an option to select what model is being used for the Agent like a selection of Gemini, Claude, Grok and then compare which one brings the best return on investment
