Hi. Is there any date for kmm plugin to work in Android Studio latest?
z
Which version do you consider the latest? The recommended version to use with the KMP plugin is the latest stable one, that's Narwhal at the moment.
z
Windows/Linux users cant use the KMP plugin on Narwhal yet 🙂

Yes Narwhal is only on Mac. I got it on Linux

But the plugin worked on the last version of Android Studio Linux... You're not planning to continue?

According to the thread, is it not expected that the IDE editor hates your code (in commonMain, w/o the KMP plugin)? It works roughly 20% of the time, other times it looks like the attached screenshot below. Edit: There is a code error in the screenshot, but its irrelevant to the issue
@yoz Afaik, they will support both Windows and Linux, just havent completed it yet

Old projects open with the IDE but you can't create new kmm project. I'm not sure yet of other limitations yet. When is it planned for Linux? Is there a ticket I can follow. Reverting to earlier Android Studio version is problematic when using latest gradle android plugin.

Yes, as mentioned in several places (including the announcement post), we are planning to release the plugin for Windows and Linux as well, it's the highest priority of the team working on the plugin. But once again, if you install the set of plugins mentioned in the linked thread above separately, you'll already get a really solid experience for working with KMP projects. Most of what the new plugin provides is iOS-specific support which is tied to macOS anyway - what you're missing compared to macOS users is mostly small convenience features (like run configs). You should definitely be able to open projects on Windows and Linux, and edit code in multiplatform projects, and build and run them for Android, desktop, and web. If that doesn't work, please file an issue on YouTrack.
