I have a mountain of open source libraries at Lightning Kite, and while there's still polish I want to do on some of them before I publicize them, I honestly have no idea how to begin publicizing them. How do you guys go about publicizing your libraries for adoption?

There are a bunch of articles online - the problem is they tend to not be up to date as unfortunately things move. I agree this ought to be simpler! Maybe something that Amper should tackle 🙂

Nah, like, they're published to a maven repository already. That was a pain for sure, but it's done. I mean, like, socially. I'm starting to post on the slack and reddit a bit, but want to know where I should be posting and who I should be talking to.

oh publicizing them - sorry I misread that 😅 Yeah for sure that's a good question. There's always newsletters like Kotlin Weekly for instance. They often talk about new libraries.
ah there's https://klibs.io/ too. Not sure if that would help for a lib to be listed there.

Doesn't help that I think I'm going to bother some people a bit too with the fact that two of my libraries are full framework competitors with Compose and Ktor respectively. I think it probably would help. Thanks for the suggestion!

Competition is good!

On my side: • #C0BJ0GTE2 • Bluesky • …just talking about it to people I'm not really good at it though

In addition to slack and socials, having a blog post or conference talk can be a good way to introduce a new library and explain what it does and why people might want to use it. Especially if there are established alternatives, it can be helpful to have something to point people to when they ask why they should use your library over another.
