hey all im trying to get feedback on this. you can now get dp distance between composables in android studio preview directly: 1. does this seem useful to you? 2. im wondering if these dp calculations work correctly on your own composables

understand your concern, does it help that this "figma" like view is completely free to use and doesn't require a sign up?

this is the initial version and goal here is to make it so that you can quickly modify UI in the preview w/o needing to go into the code

we originally tried to see if we could contribute this directly to android studio, and were rejected. this is one of the few ways we know how to make compose easier to work w/

I'm not the right person to evaluate such a tool. I use Compose mostly without Compose UI.

In ASG Aman Gottumukkala asked for access to build android studio for contributions and this didn't seem like an option that was available

That's pretty different from "someone told us no" 😛

Now, is that a good thing that you can't build Studio from AOSP sources? No, not really

But definitely a different kind of challenge
