08/05/2025, 2:26 PMWhat are you guys’ opinions on SKIE?Touchlab would also love more feedback. We’re close to the 2 year anniversary of SKIE launching as open source. You can find us in #CTJB58X7X and join the discussions or create issues at https://github.com/touchlab/SKIE
I couldn’t find a substitute for itThere isn’t really a substitute for it, however, https://github.com/rickclephas/KMP-NativeCoroutines is a great project if SKIE doesn’t fit your needs. Even as #C073GUW6WN9 matures, it will not be a substitute, but a companion to SKIE
I didn’t find many project examples using itSearching github for “co.touchlab.skie” returns many interesting results https://github.com/search?q=%22co.touchlab.skie%22&type=code. Just on the first page I see • https://github.com/twilio/twilio-sync-sdk • https://github.com/powersync-ja/powersync-kotlin • https://github.com/mbta/mobile_app • https://github.com/Infomaniak/multiplatform-SwissTransfer There are many closed-source projects using SKIE which you will of course not be able to find unless someone tells you.
Is it still a common practice right now?According to our anonymous and optional analytics, there are over 6000 users compiling with SKIE during the past week. Of course we have no idea how many projects disabled the optional analytics. I would go further than saying it is common practice by claiming it is best practice • https://developer.android.com/codelabs/kmp-get-started#6 • https://www.jetbrains.com/help/kotlin-multiplatform-dev/multiplatform-upgrade-app.html#option-2-configure-skie
