Tangential but I never use the official search. I usually go to each project directly or when really in need I use https://mvnrepository.com/

I really dislike mvnrepository 😅 I find it has very poor UX

Agreed but it is working reliably and hasn't changed in 20 years (no A/B testing there, I like the predictability)
