Am I the only one who finds the term "feature drop" (referring to Android and Android Studio releases) highly confusing? To me "feature drop" sounds like it means an existing feature is being discontinued in the next release. But what Google apparently really means is the complete opposite.

It's a bit sloppy, given an international audience, but what they really mean is the analog of "name dropping". They are just trying to sound 🐕 cool, I guess.

It's more common in the video game world, like Minecraft has a "fall drop" update for instance.

They're trying to imitate Apple who has a massive event where everything gets announced, instead of releasing small features all along the year…
