Hello! I updated to macOS 26 tonight and I got my IntelliJ frozen multiple times since then. Also happened once while Junie was working (but not only) so I lost the task and had to finish it manually. Happened like 4/5 times since this morning. Any known/tracked issue about this?

I've seen the same thing, although for me it's only the text area - I can close and reopen the window, and it works again

Yes closing and reopening fix it but then it happens again later

The frustrating case is when it happens while Junie is working. After reopening I see it stopped

Could you please attach zipped thread dumps from log directory? (
Help | Show log
)
j
thread-dump-1424008803.txt.zip
I hope that's what you are looking for - it's from
bg-wa
under the logs dir
a
the dump was captured during diff processing, is it the case? I would expect that you would have many dump files (they are dumped every ±5-10 sec)
j
that's the only one that I have
I noticed that one of my windows was frozen and went and grabbed the file
unless I'm looking in the wrong place
do you want the
idea1.log
file instead?
a
no, idea1.log is log "overflow". Please try with idea.log. Thanks!
j
idea.log.zip
it looks to me that the thread is hung checking for composer updates
another pane froze
yeah, this is really annoying and borderline unusable

Do you need php plugin? From the log, it looks like you have some broken installation with parts of php plugin available but others not.
j
yes, I have a PHP project I work on as well as a Kotlin one - how can I fix that plugin?
a
I'd reinstall IJ from scratch and install php plugin afterwards.
j
ok, I deleted IJ and redownloaded, although most of my plugins seemed to persist - we'll see how it goes
it would be nice if IJ would say something like "this installation is corrupted" and/or have a repair function

I updated to 2025.2.2 this morning, and I haven’t go the issue once today. So maybe it’s fixed.
